Senior SoC Architect

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced System-on-Chip (SoC) Architect to drive the definition and development of next-generation semiconductor solutions. The ideal candidate will lead architectural decisions from product conception through silicon realization, working closely with product management, design, verification, software, validation, and customer teams.

This role requires a strong technical leader capable of translating market requirements into scalable and innovative SoC architectures that meet performance, power, area, cost, safety, security, and schedule objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define end-to-end SoC architecture for complex semiconductor products.
• Drive architectural tradeoff analysis involving performance, power, area (PPA), cost, and risk.
• Define subsystem interfaces, interconnect architecture, memory hierarchy, and data flow.
• Lead IP selection, reuse, and integration strategies.
• Collaborate with design, verification, physical implementation, DFT, safety, security, and software teams.
• Drive performance analysis, and architectural validation.
• Support silicon bring-up, debugging, and product qualification activities.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.

Required Technical Skills:

Architecture & System Design:

• Strong understanding of SoC architecture principles.
• Experience defining heterogeneous multi-core architectures.
• Expertise in CPU, GPU, DSP, AI/ML accelerator, and embedded processor integration.
• Deep knowledge of memory architectures, cache coherency, and interconnect fabrics.
• Experience with NoC (Network-on-Chip) architectures.
• Understanding of hardware-software co-design methodologies.

Semiconductor Design:

• Solid background in RTL design and digital IC development.
• Understanding of ASIC and FPGA development flows.
• Knowledge of synthesis, timing closure, power optimization, and physical design constraints.
• Familiarity with advanced process nodes and design tradeoffs.

Verification & Modeling:

• Experience with architectural modeling and simulation.
• Familiarity with UVM-based verification methodologies.
• Ability to define architectural test strategies and performance validation plans.

Interfaces & Standards:

Experience with several of the following:

• AMBA AXI/AHB/APB
• PCIe
• Ethernet
• USB
• MIPI
• DDR/LPDDR
• UCIe
• CXL
• Coherent Interconnect protocols

Safety & Security:

• Understanding of functional safety concepts (ISO 26262 preferred).
• Knowledge of secure boot, root of trust, cryptographic accelerators, and security architectures.
• Experience with automotive, industrial, aerospace, mobile, AI, or data-center applications is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 1015+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
• 5+ years in architecture or technical leadership roles.
• Proven track record delivering complex SoCs to production.
• Experience leading cross-functional global engineering teams.
