Accountant / Full-Charge Bookkeeper (2 Openings)

Full-Time, 40 hrs/week | PST-overlap schedule (South America afternoon hours) | Long-Term Contract & Remote

About the Role

A U.S.-based business management and accounting firm serving clients in the entertainment industry is looking for two experienced accounting professionals to join their remote team. Both roles handle full-charge bookkeeping and day-to-day accounting operations end-to-end; one of the two positions carries an additional focus on U.S. tax preparation. This is a high-ownership role for someone who already understands accounting fundamentals and can operate independently in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle full-charge bookkeeping from transaction entry through financial reporting
• Record and categorize financial transactions accurately in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Process and support payroll activities
• Prepare and maintain financial statements and accounting records
• Assist with financial analysis and account review
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on open account issues
• Support client bill payment and accounting-related business management activities
• Work primarily in QuickBooks and the firm's internal workflow systems, including TaxDome
• Follow established internal procedures while proactively communicating discrepancies, unusual transactions, or client issues to management

Requirements

Both Positions

• 3+ years of relevant accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience preferred; demonstrated depth of competency matters more than years alone
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Hands-on experience with: bank reconciliations, AP, AR, payroll, and financial statement preparation
• Strong QuickBooks proficiency (daily operational use)
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable managing multiple client accounts in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal English communication; proactive about flagging issues
• Experience with U.S.-based companies or accounting firms is a strong plus
• TaxDome experience is a plus
• CPA designation is not required

Position 2 — Additional Requirements (Tax Preparation Focus)

• Hands-on experience preparing U.S. tax returns
• Working knowledge of U.S. taxation and basic IRS requirements
• Experience supporting a U.S. CPA, tax practice, or accounting firm strongly preferred
• Enrolled Agent (EA) designation is a plus but not required
• Must be prepared to deepen tax knowledge under the firm's direct guidance

Ideal Candidate

You already understand accounting fundamentals and don't need to be trained on the basics — you can independently handle a bank reconciliation, manage AP/AR, and produce clean financial statements without step-by-step guidance. You're sharp, self-directed, and you flag problems before they escalate rather than waiting to be asked. You take real ownership of accuracy in your work and are comfortable serving multiple clients in a fast-moving environment. For Position 2, you bring practical exposure to U.S. tax return preparation and are ready to build on that foundation under the firm's coaching.
